MARKET INFORMATION

The December market information is now online via the web site at www.bscw.co.uk.

Thanks also to those members who sent in their CVs recently for inclusion on their member's page. These will be processed as and when possible over the holiday. (Likewise, if you're a new member your template page will be created too.) However, there are still a lot more of you that haven't supplied your details yet, so if you're one of them why not make it your New Year's Resolution? As you will see from this month's market information, producers are now beginning to come to the BSCW with work in hand and we need these details to help sell your services for projects. Thanks for your co-operation.

BRITISH WEB BROADCASTING SEARCH FOR NEW COMIC TALENT

From: Andy Campbell, PR for bwebb.tv

Comedy Internet TV pioneers British Web Broadcasting have launched their search for the brightest in new comedy talent.

They are encouraging viewers to submit their own work to be judged by a select panel of comedy experts. The winner will be invited to appear in their own BwebB series for a year as well as being offered a video contract from top comedy video publishers, Vision Video Limited.

The panel of judges will be made up from comic actors Robert Llewellyn (Red Dwarf) and Nigel Planer (The Young Ones), Garry Bushell (The Sun’s TV critic) and BwebB Chairman, Jonathan Cole.

There are no limitations to the type of material; standup, sketches, comedy films, even animation - just so long as it’s funny.

Entering the competition couldn’t be easier. If you’ve got something funny on videotape (DV-Cam preferred) just pop it in the post to British Web Broadcasting Search For A Comic, No. 1 Amalgamated Drive, West Cross Centre, Great West Road, Brentford, London, TW8 9EZ. Alternatively, you might want to send your material in a compressed e-mail through to the BwebB site at www.bwebb.tv, where you1ll find full details and competition rules.

Robert’s Red Dwarf co-star, Hattie Hayridge, has joined the team and made a short film to demonstrate how easy it is to shoot, edit and e-mail entries through.

British Web Broadcasting is a new concept in broadcasting comedy television through the Internet. The Website features a number of regularly updated comedy sketches and characters including Robert and Nigel’s sitcom series, "Let’s Really Talk About Our Problems".

Stella Street star, Phil Cornwell teams up with old sparring partner, Rick Stone, to resurrect their Radio 1 favourites OBilly & Dave1. There are also regular contributions from Aussie legend Sir Les Patterson.

The closing date for entries is 28th February 2001.

Write to:

1 Amalgamated Drive,
West Cross Centre,
Brentford TW89EZ.
